It is the reduction of the number of hairs through the light energy produced by the laser. The light energy is transformed into heat that destroys the hair roots. The diode laser has the most advanced technology for hair removal, being the most effective and with the lowest rate of complications. It has a cooled tip that protects the skin around the hair, avoiding side effects.
To extend the duration of this treatment, you need to know that hair has three growth phases; the active growth phase; the resting phase and the falling phase. In the same region, several hairs are at different stages and the application mainly affects the roots of the growing hairs. These hairs do not grow back. The hair in the resting and falling phase grows back in smaller quantities and is weaker. On average, six to eight applications are needed in each area to be treated.
